Segments
A segment is a named filter over the contacts table. Open Segments → + New segment. Filters compose: include all contacts with tag vip who also have an email and consented to marketing.

Schedules attach a segment to an automation on a cadence (DAILY / WEEKLY / MONTHLY) at a specific local time and time zone. The engine wakes up at nextRunAt, fans the segment out into per-contact runs, then advances nextRunAt to the next slot.
